Two-Month Course on “Accounting and Applied Accounting”
Thirty Armenians from Artsakh are participating in a two-month training course on "Accounting and Applied Accounting" held at the RA SRC "Training Center," a partner of the "Learn and Earn: Artsakh" project. The course is conducted by Amalya Galstyan, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor at the French University in Armenia (UFAR).
The aim of the course is to provide fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge for accounting of an organization’s financial and economic activities, preparation of financial statements, and effective decision-making.
Accounting remains a highly demanded profession, and this course covers topics such as:
- Key concepts, principles, procedures, methodology, and techniques used in accounting.
- The scope, main concepts, and conceptual frameworks of financial, managerial, and tax accounting, forming the basis of accounting theory and practice.
- The full accounting cycle, including the collection and consolidation of financial and economic data and the preparation of financial statements.
- Legal and regulatory frameworks governing applied accounting.
- Forecasting future activities, forming reserves, timely identification of risks, and problem-solving to achieve desired outcomes.
As a result of the course, participants will master the basics of financial accounting, methods of bookkeeping, and approaches to preparing and analyzing reports, with a focus on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). They will also be able to assess the role of professional judgment and estimates in selecting accounting policies.
Due to these and other factors, accounting remains a fundamental and continuously evolving field, making it a key area for specialization and lifelong learning.
